About the Hypnotist Jonathan Chase
‘Cripples, Cars, Hypnosis and Handjobs’
Jonathan Chase’s life in his own words
Hi there, Jane Bregazzi here, I’d like to tell you about my partner in life and business.
Jonathan, a self-confessed showbiz junkie who’s worked in the ‘biz’ as a roadie, stage manager, sound engineer, tour manager and of course an ‘act’ in his own right, became intrigued by hypnosis after receiving therapy to alleviate the effects of a genetic neuromuscular condition. A condition that makes his achievements even more remarkable: that and watching a former girlfriend getting drunk on a glass of tap water, an interesting phenomena that you will understand more fully having read this book.
He studied much after this and found he had a natural ability for the use of the hypnotic art, even being persuaded to begin a therapy clinic. His love of the ‘biz’ though, was a draw, and the fact that he couldn’t sing, dance or act, originated ‘The Dream Pilot’. With total mesmerism (I use the word loosely) he spent a couple of years watching all the hypnosis acts he could see and was taught the Stage Hypnosis game by two well known entertainers: Jay [Cetan Marni] Ruffley a Red Indian knife throwing Ninja hypnotism act, and comedian and backstage hypnotist Robin Colville from the Grumbleweeds.
He found it easy to combine both private consultations for remedial and performance purposes with entertainment hypnosis and fast became known for his innate prowess with all aspects of what he calls “the beautiful art”.
In this time Jonathan has built a wealth of experience and has performed in more places than is possible to list, here are but a few:
Weekend Live (Central Television), Beacon Radio (Wolverhampton ‘91) performing the first 4 hour comedy hypnosis show live on air, Piccadilly Radio (Manchester) performing the second. West End (London), Limelight Club (Shaftsbury Avenue), Theatre Royal (Stoke-on-Trent), Pavilion Theatre (Devon: Two Record breaking summer seasons), Prince of Wales Theatre (Staffordshire), Palazzo Pescatori Restaurant Theatre (Malta), N.E.C. (Birmingham), UK Forces (UK & Europe). He is an established entertainment for many corporate clients including; G.P.O., Club 18-30, B.B.C., Royal Air Force, H.M. Forces, Trust House Forte, Ringways Ford, Port Vale Football Club, and has appeared at literally hundreds of exhibitions, functions and presentations, from small bars upwards.
As well as all this he has managed to find time to co-write and direct a comedy musical ‘Laughter & Tears’, premiered at the Prince of Wales Theatre 1998 and to qualify as a Clinical Master Hypnotist (UK) and as a Master of Mind Integration Therapy (USA).
In 1991 he made hypnosis history performing the first live four-hour long comedy hypnosis show on radio, using invited volunteers from the general public and by broadcasting a twelve show series of past-life regressions live on air for Wolverhampton’s Beacon Radio, with an estimated audience of over 250,000. He now presents a diverse show including magical mentalism and past lives and also writes song lyrics, comedy sketches, reads Tarot cards and teaches and mentors stage and remedial hypnosis and is often approached by strange people asking for breast or penis enlargement. Must be exhausting!
In 1985 he was involved in a fatal car accident, not his fault, and in 1993 he became the first and only Stage Hypnotist to fall from stage due to his hereditary neuromuscular condition C.M.T, Charcot Marie Tooth disease, which resulted in his suffering a reticular fracture of his femur.
Ten years later he experienced a heart attack during which his heart stopped twice. After the resulting quadruple arterial bypass graft – or Cabage as it’s known in the Nursing trade – and life saving heart surgery he was really disappointed he hadn’t had an out of body experience.
It is estimated that he has hypnotised well over 70,000 people on and off stage – he thinks it is closer to a third of a million – although I have it that he didn’t count. At the turn of the century he felt – was persuaded – that it was time to pass his knowledge from doing it, the right and the wrong way, onto others.
When I read his book Deeper & Deeper – having no experience of hypnosis – my first words were ‘is that it, it can’t be that simple?’ In fact hypnosis is simple and with the right practical learning experience, hypnosis is accessible to all with of course the right teacher:-) Now after editing three more books, as well as handbooks, DVD’s and trainings I know that hypnosis the Jon Chase way is simple and very, very effective. As well as loads of fun!
Then I’m a bit biased – Jon changed my life and that’s his vocation to inspire, entertain, help, to teach and to make people happy. Actually before he was a hypnotist he was a nurse, which he loved but was pensioned off because of his disability.
Jon has real life experience and knows a thing or millions about the mind. Never underestimate simplicity – less is more.
